At The Good Apple, Miss Jarvis creates a positive and engaging learning environment with clear and consistent routines to provide students with a sense of security. Miss Jarvis believes in positive reinforcement, such as praise and rewards as she motivates and encourages her students. She uses effective communication, tailored to your child's level, along with active listening, to ensure a supportive connection. Miss Jarvis provides a safe physical environment and patience within the classroom. She also believes in play-based activities and incorporates them into her teaching to enhance learning and fun! Collaboration with parents, maintaining open communication, and involving parents in the learning process is very important. Miss Jarvis wants all of her students to have an EXTRAORDINARY experience at The Good Apple!
Hi there! It’s me! I’m the teacher, Tiyana Jarvis!
I’m a passionate educator and proud mom of two—Mila and Mason—an infant and a kindergartener at the time I created The Good Apple. With a deep love for early education, I’ve dedicated my work to building strong academic foundations for preschool and kindergarten learners.
I created The Good Apple as a space where students are not only taught, but truly seen, heard, and encouraged to extraordinary! My passion for homeschooling comes from the belief that every child deserves an environment tailored to their unique gifts and learning style. I believe all students have the ability to exceed the norm when given the right support, love, and encouragement.
Currently, I serve as the Director of Education at Sylvan Learning and am a former teacher at The PREP School. These roles have only deepened my commitment to making early learning joyful, personalized, and impactful—for both children and their families.
